Graduated from Pontifícia Universidade Católica de Campinas in medicine in 1986. Specialization in Ophthalmology at Fundação Dr. João Penido Burnier (1987/88), received title of specialist by the Conselho Brasileiro de Oftalmologia and Associação Médica Brasileira.
Ophthalmologist, specially interested in cataract and glaucoma.
Born in Campinas, state of São Paulo, grandson of Dr. Synésio de Mello e Oliveira, who was pioneer ophthalmologist in the city of São José do Rio Preto (SP). Father, Dr. Hélion de Mello e Oliveira, and brother Dr. Hilton de Mello e Oliveira, are consultant ophthalmologists in Instituto Penido Burnier, in Campinas (SP).
